I have always been fascinated by children’s ability to express themselves in visually creative ways. Teaching Art in the elementary grades for over 30 years has motivated me to try applying to my own paintings what I teach children - there is no right, wrong, or mistakes in the creative process. This is a very challenging mindset to have as an adult. I enjoy the challenge of capturing a subject's personality and/or essence in commissioned paintings.
